Reading Branch Projects
Book Bonanza: Reading Branch of AAUW conducts this annual fundraiser which continues to be a major source of funds for providing scholarships to further young women’s education. Much thanks to Berks County libraries and the Friends of the Berks County Library, who co-sponsor AAUW Book Bonanza. In 2011, $12,000 was distributed in graduate scholarships; $2,000 to senior girls; and $11,000 for Re-Entry tuition assistance.
Graduate Scholarships: Grants to Berks County women who are pursuing full or part-time graduate studies.
Re-Entry Scholarships: Grants to mature Berks County Women who are returning to school to pursue education leading to certification or a degree.
Senior Girl Recognition: A project that honors the top academic senior females in Berks County High Schools.
Cops N' Kids Project: Cops N' Kids Literacy Program of Greater Reading is supported by AAUW Reading through reading to the children and providing books to them.
Lets Read Math: AAUW Reading women are providing a unique workshop for children that stimulates an interest in math through hands on activities enjoyed by all.
